Counselling

Access counselling support

Talking to someone can make a real difference when you’re feeling anxious, low, or overwhelmed.

At Regent College London (RCL), we can help you access free, confidential counselling through referrals to trusted external services.

You’ll be matched with qualified counsellors who can help you explore what’s affecting you and support you in developing strategies to cope and progress.

Counselling services

The Wellbeing and Disability Support team can refer you to these specialist counselling organisations that provide short-term, one-to-one support with experienced professionals.  The service is designed for students who want a safe and private space to talk about anything that’s affecting their wellbeing or studies.

Counselling may help if you’re:

  • Feeling stressed, anxious, or low in mood.
  • Struggling with relationships, family, or loneliness.
  • Adjusting to university life or study pressures.
  • Coping with bereavement or personal challenges.
  • Looking for space to explore your feelings and build resilience.

Sessions are confidential and delivered by qualified counsellors, either online or in person.

You don’t have to wait until things feel unmanageable. Reaching out early can help you feel more in control.

How to access counselling

You can access counselling by referral through RCL’s Wellbeing and Disability Support team. The process is quick, easy, and completely confidential.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Complete a short support registration form.
  2. A member of the Student Support team will contact you to discuss your situation and refer you to external counselling services, according to your needs.
  3. You’ll then be offered up to 6 free sessions with a qualified counsellor, arranged at a time and format that suits you.

If you require longer-term or specialist support for concerns such as substance misuse, your counsellor can signpost you to other suitable services.

All counselling sessions are strictly confidential. Your information will only be shared if there is a serious risk of harm to yourself or others, or where required by law, in line with professional safeguarding and data protection standards.
