Disabled student bursary funding
The Disabled Student Bursary is intended to support you in continuing your studies with confidence by assisting with the additional costs related to a disability.
We understand that balancing your studies with a disability can present extra challenges, and this bursary is one way the College aims to assist.
Before applying, please review the eligibility criteria so you know what to expect.
What is the Disability Bursary?
This bursary provides financial support to eligible disabled students who may incur additional costs related to their studies.
Key information includes:
- Purpose: To assist with extra expenses directly associated with a disability.
- Maximum award: Up to £500 per academic year.
- Payment type: One-time payment (there is no need to repay it).
- Limited funding: Applications are carefully evaluated to ensure that support is given to students who meet the eligibility criteria.
What do we mean by a disability?
A disability is typically defined as a long-term physical or mental health condition that significantly affects your daily activities or academic performance.

You may need to submit medical or professional documentation to ensure that your application is assessed fairly.
To qualify for support, you will need to ensure you meet the following criteria at the time of your application and throughout the review process.
You need to:
- Have a declared disability recorded with RCL.
- Provide supporting evidence if requested.
- Be a Home (UK) student.
- Be directly enrolled at Regent College London.
- Be studying at Level 4, 5, or 6.
- Have tuition fees funded by Student Finance England.
- Attending and participating in classes.
- Working towards assessments.

Before applying, please take a moment to ensure that you meet the eligibility criteria listed above.
When you are ready:
- Complete the Disabled Student Bursary Application Form.
- Upload any necessary supporting documents.
- Submit your application by the specified deadline.
If we require any additional information, we will reach out to you using your RCL student email address.
We will reach out via your RCL student email, so check it regularly after submitting your application. Applications are reviewed after the deadline for eligibility.
Payments are processed once checks are complete, but dates are not guaranteed, and some applications may take longer if more information is needed.
If your application is not successful, you will still be contacted and may be directed to other sources of support.
