What to expect on the day

Check your room allocation at reception. A seating plan will also be displayed outside the exam room – find your assigned seat before entering.

Invigilators will check your ID and any permitted notes, and you’ll be asked to sign the attendance list.

All personal belongings must be placed in the designated storage area, and all electronic devices (phones, smartwatches, tablets) must be switched off and stored in your bag or handed to invigilators.

Remove coats and jackets before sitting down.

Only bring your ID, water, stationery, and (if permitted) your notes and calculator to your desk. Sit in your assigned seat and complete the front of your answer booklet using the instructions displayed on the board.

Invigilators will read an announcement containing essential information. Listen carefully.

You are under exam conditions from the moment the exam begins. No talking or disturbing others is allowed. If you need help or wish to use the bathroom, raise your hand and wait for an invigilator.

Remain seated until all materials have been collected and you are told you may leave.

If you need to leave early, you may only do so after the first hour of the exam.

Exam conduct

Exams are formal assessments, and you must follow all instructions from staff. Misconduct – including disruptive behaviour or verbal abuse – will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the exam.
