Stress Awareness Month: Workshops and resources

1–2 minutes

April is Stress Awareness Month

Stress Awareness Month is dedicated to increasing awareness of stress, what causes it, how it affects us, and exploring practical ways to manage it.

What is stress?

Stress is a natural physical response to challenging situations. While small amounts can help motivate us, too much stress can negatively impact both mental and physical wellbeing over time.

Ways to help manage and reduce stress:

  • Stay active: Regular physical activity can help reduce stress levels and boost your mood.
  • Learn about stress: Understanding your triggers can help you respond more effectively.
  • Make time for self-care: Prioritise rest, hobbies, and activities that help you relax and recharge.
  • Be aware of habits: Notice coping strategies that may not be helpful in the long term, such as poor sleep or unhealthy routines.
  • Support your financial wellbeing: Financial concerns can be a major source of stress – seek advice and use available student support services.

Wellbeing workshops

Our dedicated Wellbeing Advisors run sessions designed to help you build resilience and coping strategies, manage academic pressure, and improve your overall wellbeing.
