Academic skills support for students
Our Academic Skills team empowers you to study with confidence, enhances your academic writing abilities, and improves your overall learning experience. We support students at all levels, from newcomers to those refining advanced skills.
Who we help
The ASK@Regent team supports all Regent College London students, regardless of campus, level, or subject. Whether you’re in foundation, undergraduate, or postgraduate programmes, you can access academic skills guidance year-round. Our services help you develop essential skills like reading, note-taking, critical writing, presentations, and revision. If you’re unsure where to start, we can help you find the right starting point.
How we help
One-to-one academic skills appointments
Book a personalised appointment for focused guidance on your assignments or study approach. Discuss your essay plan, improve structure, strengthen arguments, or review your revision strategy. Appointments are on Microsoft Teams or on campus, and you’ll leave with clear next steps.
Academic skills workshops
Join weekly online workshops to boost your skills in writing, reading, research, academic English, and exam prep. Topics include Harvard referencing, critical writing, paraphrasing, academic style, and more. These interactive sessions are free and easily accessible.
Online learning resources
Access self-study materials like videos, guides, and practice activities. Complete the PASS course to enhance your academic, English, and digital skills at your own pace while earning badges. These resources boost your confidence and allow you to revisit topics as needed.
