Your Personal Academic Tutor
When you start your programme, you’ll be assigned a Personal Academic Tutor (PAT). Your PAT will be your main contact for all academic-related queries throughout your programme. PATs provide academic guidance, feedback, and support specific to your progress.
Engaging regularly with your PAT is essential for understanding your needs and receiving effective support. You will meet with them individually and in groups to discuss your progress and goals, ensuring tailored academic assistance for your journey.
What will your PAT help you with?
Your PAT is an academic member of staff who will support you throughout your course.
They will help you to:
- Keep on track with your learning and attendance.
- Understand your academic feedback and plan improvements.
- Develop plans to explore study skills and academic confidence.
- Connect with specialist support services when needed.
Your role in engaging with your PAT
Meeting with your Personal Academic Tutor is an important part of your academic journey. At the beginning of each semester, you will receive an invitation to a group meeting. You can also schedule additional one-on-one meetings anytime you need advice or support.
It is essential that you attend all your one-on-one and group Personal Academic Tutor meetings. To make the most of these meetings, prepare in advance by reviewing any feedback you’ve received and considering what topics you would like to discuss.
Please keep your Personal Academic Tutor informed about any changes that may affect your studies or wellbeing.
How to book an appointment with your PAT
Your Personal Academic Tutor will email you weekly with a link to their Microsoft appointment booking form. Complete the form to schedule a one-on-one session. You will receive a confirmation email containing your meeting details.
