
Your guide to getting started at RCL
We’re excited to welcome you to Regent College London. As you prepare to join us, here’s everything you need to know ahead of your arrival and how to make the most of your first few weeks.
Before you arrive
1. Activate your student email and accounts
When you enrol, you’ll receive details to activate your student email and access your student systems. After setting up your account, make sure you can log in to all key platforms:
- Office 365 (Teams, Word, PowerPoint, OneDrive)
- Timetable
- Canvas (your learning platform)
- Regent Digital (student app)
- SEAtS (for recording attendance if you study on campus)
Check everything is working before your first day. If you have any issues, email itsupport@regentgroup.org.uk.
2. Prepare for study
Before your classes begin, take some time to:
- Check your timetable and first class details
- Review your modules and reading lists on Canvas
- Understand the attendance expectations and read the Student Activity Monitoring Policy
- Read the Student Charter to understand your role and responsibilities as a student
3. Get support in place early
Join optional pre-enrolment support sessions for help with enrolment, finance, or technical access. Your Enrolment Officer will email you the online meeting links.
If you have a disability or additional support needs, contact the Wellbeing and Disability team at wellbeing@rcl.ac.uk to arrange a support plan or explore available funding before you arrive.
4. Get connected
- Explore the Student Web for key information and services
- Stay updated via the Student News hub
- Download the Regent Digital app to access your student accounts on the go
International students
If you’re joining us from outside the UK, you’ll also need to complete your enrolment in-person before classes begin. Please visit the Holborn Campus and bring the required documents (passport, visa, CAS, qualifications, address details).
Your Enrolment Officer will email you with the full details. If you need further support, contact enrolment@rcl.ac.uk.
You should also:
- Arrange your student accommodation
- Open a UK bank account and register with a GP
- Prepare for living in London (travel cards, student discounts)
Your first week
Your first week is all about settling in and getting started.
Remember to:
- Collect your student ID card (campus students)
- Attend your induction and timetabled classes
- Get familiar with your campus and support services
- Join the welcome activities, including the student fairs
Making the most of your first month
As you settle in, take advantage of the support, resources, and opportunities available to you.
Meet your Personal Academic Tutor
Your Personal Academic Tutor (PAT) will support your academic progress throughout your course. Your PAT will send you an introductory email – make sure you connect with them early on.
Academic support and resources
Access academic skills support and one-to-one support to develop your writing, referencing, and presentation skills.
Use Canvas and Regent Digital to access your learning materials and useful study tools, and explore the library resources, including the Fitzrovia Campus Library and the digital library catalogue.
Wellbeing and support services
Access confidential wellbeing and disability support, including help with support plans, funding applications, and any adjustments you may need for your studies.
Get involved
Attend upcoming student events and be part of the student voice community. You’ll have the chance to nominate yourself as the Student Voice Representative for your class and help shape the student experience.
